This year the Pune Centre of IETE has been selected to be the venue for holding the convocation for AMIETE students & ALCCS post graduate students, from among stiff competition from other major centres in the country. In addition, Pune Centre is hosting the conduct of the prestigious Sir J.C.Bose Memorial lecture apart from being the venue for holding the council & other committee meetings by the New Delhi Headquarters.
Established in 1972, the Pune Centre of IETE has grown into one of the major centres of the country with 709 corporate members & more than 2000 student members, as of today. Pune Centre covers whole of the Maharashtra except greater Bombay, Nagpur, & Amravati centres. It is well equipped with Electronics & Computer laboratories & a good library & an auditorium of 75 capacity, named ‘Global Hall’. Apart from the regular work of conducting two examinations, AMIETE & DIPIETE, Pune Centre also conducts coaching classes in theory & laboratory courses for IETE examinations. Also Pune Centre has conducted seminars, apex forums,monthly lectures & special courses for Industry Personnel, in Electronics, Software, Hardware & Medical Instrumentation. Among some of the recently conducted seminars, were, the ‘National Seminar on Broadband Communications’, ‘Banking Automation’, ‘Electronics in Automotives’ etc. An apex forum on ‘Distance Education’ was conducted which was participated by the leading educationists & professionals of the country. To promote creativity, IETE Pune Centre conducts annual project competition for Engg. college students. The centre also supports number of student forums in various Engg. colleges in Pune & outside providing all types of guidance.
Our Nashik & Aurangabad sub-centres are also very active in their respective jurisdictions. |
